A big part of my sessions last year were cake smash sessions or 1st birthday sessions. I absolutely adore this type of shoot, because no matter how long you’ve been doing this, this is the one type of session you seriously have no control over whatsoever, and it’s 100% baby-in-control-mode for me as a photographer. I thought I’d share some of my favorite behind-the-scenes shots from last year and funny enough – most of them are cake smash behind-the-scenes shots. Oh the fun we had. :) To schedule YOUR baby’s 1st birthday or cake smash session, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and come visit us on facebook at www.facebook.com/angierayphotography to see my latest session sneak peeks! xo
I am absolutely in love with every single shot from this outdoor session. Dylan is such a sweet little guy, so easy-going and content, and he has been that way for every single one of his milestone sessions (this is the 4th time he’s visited me). I love the simplicity of the field, the fact that we got to incorporate “his” basket again and of course the outfit his mom picked for him. That being said, I absolutely ADORE Dylan’s mom – so gorgeous and so stylish and such a beautiful person inside and out.
I first had the pleasure of meeting Dylan at his newborn session and later again when he was three months old. Today I bring you six-month old Dylan who is simply dashing in red.
Now, this little darling just stole my heart – so incredibly cute and happy and content; pure joy to photograph. She came to me all the way from Atlanta and am I glad she did! LOVE her pictures, especially the yellow/white set up! What do you think? Oh, and I’m also using a new blog layout thingie – no more frames, ALL picture. Thoughts? :)
Thanks so much for coming to see me, Nyah + parents! xo
Another one of those sessions I simply haven’t had the chance to blog yet.. I am, however, slowly catching up! This little guy was so adorable and sweet – despite waking up a couple of times throughout his session, he stayed wonderfully calm and wascontent just watching the crazy lady with the camera do her thing.. ;)
Meet Miss A., who is a fellow German and friend of mine (and probably one of the smartest ones I have, mind you!). Barely out of her mid-20′s and soon-to-be a J.D., how awesome is that?! Anyway, long story short, I was beyond thrilled when Astrid won my free-session give away last month, in honor of reaching 500 Likers on my facebook (woohoo!!). We decided on Centennial Park downtown Atlanta as the venue for our shoot and that added an additional element of excitement to the whole thing, since I had never done a session downtown before.. I have to say, I loved it! The weather was fantastic, and despite the rustle and bustle Atlanta presents her visitors on any given Saturday with, we actually got to enjoy a fairly quiet Centennial Park, which of course helped finding us some gorgeous light (or better, shade) where and when we needed it. Here are some of the highlights from this shoot:
Thanks so much for coming out, Astrid! And next time I WILL bring my bathing suit and dive into that water fall, you just wait and see! ;)
It’s been a while since I did one of the I heart Faces challenges but I just couldn’t pass up one focusing on eyes. And while I was of course tempted to use a picture of my daughter Lucie, I remembered this little man pretty much last second. Meet Connor – aren’t his eyes just absolutely captivating? This was taken back when I still did studio work (and I admit, sometimes I do miss those wonderfully large catch-lights my alien bees octabox was able to create..)
Hope you enjoy. And good luck to everyone else taking part in this week’s photo challenge over at i heart faces!
