Miss A. at Centennial Park | Atlanta Portrait Photographer

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Meet Miss A., who is a fellow German and friend of mine (and probably one of the smartest ones I have, mind you!). Barely out of her mid-20’s and soon-to-be a J.D., how awesome is that?! Anyway, long story short, I was beyond thrilled when Astrid won my free-session give away last month, in honor of reaching 500 Likers on my facebook (woohoo!!). We decided on Centennial Park downtown Atlanta as the venue for our shoot and that added an additional element of excitement to the whole thing, since I had never done a session downtown before.. I have to say, I loved it! The weather was fantastic, and despite the rustle and bustle Atlanta presents her visitors on any given Saturday with, we actually got to enjoy a fairly quiet Centennial Park, which of course helped finding us some gorgeous light (or better, shade) where and when we needed it. Here are some of the highlights from this shoot:

Thanks so much for coming out, Astrid! And next time I WILL bring my bathing suit and dive into that water fall, you just wait and see! ;)

Faith – almost 3 weeks new | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Monday, August 1st, 2011

Faith came to me a little later than I usually photograph my newbies, at almost 3 weeks old. Regardless of  that, I can honestly say she was one of the most peaceful little babies I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing. With her gorgeous skin and her absolutely adorable facial expressions she totally made my day and, since I couldn’t decide which one of her pictures would be my favorite, I decided to have her go up on the website several times (check her out in the “babies” section of my portfolio!)

Here are some more of my favorites; isn’t she just the cutest thing?!

Hope to see you again someday! xo

Atticus – 8 days new | Woodstock Newborn Photographer

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

When I met Monica and Jim a few months ago for M.’s maternity session, I already had an idea that their little guy would be a super handsome one – I mean, just look at his parents! And boy, all I can say is, I was not disappointed! :)

Lots of dark hair, big dark eyes, a wonderful skin tone and the most adorable little frown on his forehead – that’s Atticus. Cuteness alert! While he wasn’t necessarily the sleepiest of babies for me, he certainly tried very hard and given the fact that his little tummy seemed to have bothered him a good bit, I couldn’t be happier with the results! I can’t wait to see this little man grow – come see me again soon!

Sweet dreams, little guy! xo

I heart faces challenge “Soft + Sweet” | Woodstock Family Photographer

Sunday, May 1st, 2011

I just wanted to pop in real quick and post this week’s I Heart Faces challenge pic – the theme this week is “Soft + Sweet” and my plan initially was to take a couple of shots of Lucie munching on Marshmallows.

Well, turns out Lucie really did not like the idea of having to mess around with sticky stuff AND endure my camera in her face so we decided to eat our marshmallows first (yes, I reluctantly agreed to have one, too *cough*) and THEN take a couple of pictures so here’s my ( sorta softish and sweetish) entry:

I heart faces challenge “Wind” | Cherokee County Outdoor Photographer

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

This week’s photo challenge theme at I Heart Faces is “Wind” and immediately I had to think of my session with Miss Jocelyn just a few weeks ago..

We DID have some mighty wind to fight with that afternoon, but Jocelyn was such a trooper, even when her hair accessories were about to take off!

So here’s my entry, hope you like it!

And make sure to check out all the other lovely and “windy” entries over at IHF!

Meet Emily | Woodstock Family Photographer

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

I’ve known Emily and her parents for quite a while now but this was the first time we had an opportunity to get together for pictures. I chose Woodstock’s City Center Park for this session for a couple of reasons: a) it’s only a 10 minute drive for all parties involved and b) it’s got everything a good family-portrait-park needs: Fountain, Gazebo, trees, benches, plenty of shade and last but not least a burger joint right across the street that serves excellent milk shakes :)

Emily celebrated her 5th birthday just 3 days after our session and just like the big girl she is now, she was being a real trooper through the whole session – thanks to a power nap right before we got started and the promise of ice cream afterwards (hey, I don’t judge – whatever works, right?) Anyway, I had so much fun with this family; E.’s parents Nadine and James are such nice individuals to begin with and together they absolutely crack me up and I’m so very glad and thankful I finally had a chance to get them in front of the camera. Here’s a couple of the shots we got that day:

Hope to see you again soon, guys! xo

Meet Jocelyn! | Dallas Child Photographer

Friday, April 8th, 2011

I met Jocelyn, her brothers and her wonderful mom Kristy at one of my most favorite parks EVER – White Oak Park in Dallas, Paulding County. LOVE it. Why? Because it has some of the biggest, most impressive oak trees you’ll ever see and because it has incredibly great areas for taking pictures – its rolling hills and closed tree lines in the background are just absolutely perfect and exactly my cup of tea. So I was excited to be back at White Oak, which I hadn’t been to in over a year and I got even more excited when I saw that my favorite tree was still there – lush and majestic and giving just the right amount of shade for our little Miss Jocelyn.

She was a tiny little bit shy at first but once I opened the magic trick box (also known as the tupperware box of infinite hair accessories LOL) she quickly warmed up and worked those hair pieces (and the camera) like a pro. Enjoy!

Miss Caroline | Cherokee County Baby Photographer

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

The first things you’ll notice about this little darling will probably be her incredibly blue eyes – I know it was the first thing that struck me when I looked at these images after uploading them. I kid you not, I had to tone down the processing because of the blue-ness because I was afraid if I didn’t they’d look digitally enhanced or artificially colored or something! They really are THAT blue! Amazing!

Caroline is actually my sister-in-laws younger daughter and I was so thrilled to be able to do her pictures since we really don’t get to see them that often (they live up in Virginia and we’re down here in Georgia..). We had planned on doing a lot of outdoor stuff but, as so often, the weather had different ideas so we ended up doing 95% of the shoot inside, utilizing the light coming in through our big glass door in the breakfast area which worked great!

For those of you wondering.. the polka dot paper lanterns were a coincidental find at Party City and the pretty bunting banner I got from wylddesigns on Etsy, here’s their store: wylddesign store.

Hope I’ll see you again soon, Caroline! (Oh and the rest of your side of the family, too, of course LOL) Enjoy your pictures! <3

James {1 Year Old} | Kennesaw Child Photographer

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Meet: James. I recently awarded him with the “Cutest Kid Ever” award on my facebook (well, no, not really, but I should, and he’d totally deserve it, too!) and forced his mom to grant me eternal rights to take his picture because I so love his little face. He is one of the happiest little boys I’ve ever met and his smile, I swear, can light up an entire room, bah, what am I saying, the entire county!

Long story short, after a couple of complications on all sides I finally got a chance to take his 1st-year pictures and we went to a tiny little area here in my neighborhood to do that.

It was late afternoon and just as I had hoped the light was absolutely fantastic – warm and golden and beautiful, just like our little birthday boy.

Take a look at some of the shots we got, isn’t he the most handsomest (is that a word?) mini-man ever? I know, right? Oh and James, it’s ok to slow down the growing-up now, it’s been too fast a year already. Promise us you’ll stay just like this for a little while longer!
